In telephone consultations, we provide advice in almost all areas of law. The advice is based on the information we receive over the phone. So if your problem is complex or requires reviewing documents, we may have to refer you to appear in person. In this way, we ensure the best assessment of your case.
A conversation takes between 5-10 minutes.
depending on your question.
It helps if you have considered exactly what you want our help with before you call.
For particularly complex questions or areas of law that fall outside our scope of advice, you will be referred to another advisory service.
We handle, for example, questions concerning tenancy law, division of property or employment. We do not handle questions within immigration law by telephone, here we refer to personal attendance on Wednesdays between 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

We serve many people in telephone advice, so there will often be a wait when you call us.

In 2025, our volunteer advisors provided legal assistance 1,300 times by phone. In this way, we make qualified legal advice available to everyone.

Important information
When your telephone advisor refers you to meet in person for more in-depth advice, it is because your case needs to be examined in more detail, and the initial telephone assessment of your case may therefore change.
Legal advice for everyone
We offer basic legal advice to all citizens residing in Denmark, regardless of nationality and income.
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have a guardian with you during the counseling.
We have a duty of confidentiality
The telephone advice is anonymous, and we therefore do not take notes from the conversation with you. The legal aid advisors are bound by confidentiality and treat the information with confidentiality in accordance with our values and ethical principles.
All conversations with an advisor are confidential, and we do not use social security numbers in the advice.
The only exception to the duty of confidentiality is the duty to notify and the duty to prevent.
If we become aware that a person's life is in danger or a young person under the age of 18 is being neglected, we have a duty to act on this knowledge.
Please note that it is extremely rare for us to encounter these situations. If it does happen, we will try to find a solution together with you. In extreme cases, we may be forced to notify the municipality or the police.
