You will find us right by the City Hall Square. Aarhus Retshjælp is placed in the heart of Aarhus so it's easy to get to. There are several city buses that stop at Park Allé by the City Hall Square. We do not offer parking facilities so if you travel by car, we must refer you to parking spaces in the surrounding streets and parking garages

Who can get free legal aid?

Aarhus Retshjælp offers help in virtually all case areas. We provide basic legal advice to any citizen, no matter where in the country you live, regardless of nationality and regardless financial conditions. However, you will typically need to appear in person, unless your question is suitable for a brief telephone consultation.

About us


Aarhus Retshjælp is an independent, self-owned institution, free from both private and public interests. Aarhus Retshjælp receives an annual operational subsidy from the Civilstyrelsen

.

The legal counseling is provided by 20 advisors at Aarhus Retshjælp, who volunteer their services unpaid to the aid's users.



Advisors work in pairs and are law students nearing the end of their education or newly graduated lawyers. The counseling takes place under the supervision of the leaders or the three professional heads. The advisors are assigned a regular weekly shift.

Aarhus Retschjælp is approved by the Danish Civil Agency, which means that we meet the requirements to receive grants according to §§ 323 and 324 of the Administration of Justice Act. The approval ensures that Aarhus Retschjælp can continue to offer free legal assistance to everyone who needs it.
